Description
75% Sangiovese, 25% Nebbiolo
A new name for an old favourite. True to varietal composition and winemaking style, we have decided to embrace our Italian roots and rename our Rosé – Rosato. We feel it’s consistent with the style of wines we make, and our growing reputation as a producer of elegant Italian varietals.
The Rosato simply jumps out of the glass, with concentrated aromas of ripe strawberries and cream, red cherry, redcurrant and a hint of orange on the nose. There is bright acidity on the palate, due to the cooler 2017 vintage, as well as abundant cherry and strawberry flavours. A creamy texture on the mid palate thanks to fermentation in old French oak is enhanced by a hint of phenolics from the Nebbiolo saignée. The wine concludes with good length and a pleasant amaro finish – a great summer wine with pizza or antipasti.
