Description

This classic from rising star Alex Head brings out solid Southern Eden Valley characteristics of primarily of citrus fruits; lemon, lime and grapefruit come together with a long, chalky and mineral finish.

The ‘Stonegarden’ vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in Springton let alone greater Barossa, forms the backbone of the wine. Pendee Farm gives the tropical fruit and Kroehn brings all the lime/citrus. Soil type consists of sandy loam over yellow clay, schist & granite. All farmed sustainably with organic principles.

Vinification
Hand-picked fruit with some whole-bunch press into stainless steel, settled and cool fermented on some solids. Aged on lees for 5 months with 10% used French oak. Malo-lactic fermentation was blocked. Minimal So2.
